Upload the `cite` folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory 2. Activate the Cite plugin through the WordPress ‘Plugins’ dashboard. 3. Configure the plugin by going to the `Cite` tab that appears in your admin menu. 4. Add to any page using shortcode `[cite]` ## FAQ Installation Instructions 1. Cite plugin is made for academics or other people that publish scholarly articles using WordPress. It allows them to easily add reference information with dynamic tags such as permalink or article title generated automatically. How can I customise the design? The plugin has some very basic styling which should work for most users, but if you want to customise it further you can do that easily via your theme CSS. Can I use Cite plugin in my Language? Here are the issues: There is no dynamic author tag, rendering the plugin useless for websites with multiple authors It provides MLA citations only. In a perfect world, it would know how to handle titles that already have quotation marks in them. But okay, not too hard to change such titles to a different quotes, e.g., ‘single’ quotes. In a perfect world, it would behave like the rest of my post and convert smart quotes, if I so desire. Lastly, it would be super cool if the cite suggestion would appear below my Markdown footnotes. Alas, I have to convert such posts to html first.
