## Description
NOTE: Given the imminent release of the Gutenberg editor in WordPress 5.0, the Book
Review plugin is no longer being maintained. It has been replaced by [Book Review Block](https://wordpress.org/plugins/book-review-block/),
which is intended to be used together with the Gutenberg editor.

## Installation
1. In WordPress, go to _Plugins_ > _Add New_.
2. In the _Search Plugins_ field, enter “Book Review”.
3. Click _Install Now_ to install the plugin.
4. Click _Activate Plugin_ to activate the plugin.
5. Configure the settings by going to _Settings_ > _Book Review_.

1. Download the plugin and extract it.
2. Upload the `book-review` folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory on your
server.
3. Activate the plugin through the _Plugins_ menu in WordPress.
4. Configure the settings by going to _Settings_ > _Book Review_.

Installation Instructions

Why do I receive an error message when clicking on the Get Book Info button?
Please follow these steps to resolve the error:
1. Check that you have created a [Google API Key](http://wpreviewplugins.com/documentation/settings-advanced/),
and that it has been entered correctly on the _Advanced_ tab of the _Book Review
Settings_.
2. Ensure that you have selected an appropriate value from the _Country_ dropdown
on the _Advanced_ tab of the _Book Review Settings_.
3. Double-check that you have entered your server’s IP address correctly in the [Google Developers Console](https://code.google.com/apis/console).
4. Try removing the IP address altogether and wait a few minutes before trying again.
5. If all else fails, please leave a message in the [Book Review Support](http://wpreviewplugins.com/support/forum/general-support/)
forum. Be sure to include your website’s URL and the IP address in your post.
What is the Synopsis field for?
The _Synopsis_ field is meant to hold the summary or description of the book. It
is not where you are intended to write your review. You should write your review
in the WordPress editor at the top of the page, although if you prefer you can certainly
write it inside the _Synopsis_ editor instead. Be aware that if you do that, the
custom links will show at the very bottom of your post, rather than directly below
the book’s description and cover image.

I really like this plugin because it helped me get my book reviews to Google top
search. But I think it no longer works well with the latest WP versions. I tried
the Gutenberg block but I’m not getting the same features as this one and it keeps
giving me errors. I hope you can reconsider on maintaining this plugin since not
everyone also uses Gutenberg. Thank you for creating this in the first place. 🙂
